The PEI Generator Fuel Systems Installation Committee has developed a publication entitled Recommended Practices for the Design and Installation of Fueling Systems for Emergency Generators, Stationary Diesel Engines and Oil Burner Systems, PEI/RP1400.

PEI produced the document as an industry service. It is prepared for use by architects, engineers, system operators, regulators, contractors, consultants, in addition to end users installing a system.

The purpose of this document is to provide concise and consistent recommended practices for the design and installation of tanks, piping and auxiliary equipment for oil burners and stationary permanent systems that fuel diesel powered engines for pumps and generators. In order for these systems to operate safely and reliably in all situations, numerous components from a variety of manufacturers must be properly integrated, installed, inspected and maintained.

The practices contained in this document are limited to the design and installation of shop fabricated tanks, piping and auxiliary equipment for oil burners and stationary  systems that fuel to diesel powered engines for pumps and generators for primary, standby or emergency use.

Single-copy price is $75 for PEI members; $295 for nonmembers.
