In This Issue

Dear PEI Member:

Steve Trabilsy, president of Accurate Tank Technologies, North Aurora, Illinois, became the 66th president of the Petroleum Equipment Institute on January 1. He succeeds Kevin McKinney, president of McKinney Petroleum Equipment, Mobile, Alabama, in that post. Craig Hoyer, president of Kubat Equipment & Service, Denver, Colorado, is PEI’s vice president.

One of Trabilsy’s first duties was to appoint committees for 2016. In all, 180 people were named to serve on 24 PEI committees. As in years past, the number of qualified PEI members who asked to serve on a committee exceeded the number of open committee positions. Although we were not able to place all of our would-be volunteers on a committee in 2016, we want to acknowledge and thank all of those who offered their services.

You can find a complete list of all committees and committee members here.

TOPICS FOR FUTURE RECOMMENDED PRACTICES REQUESTED
PEI is seeking to identify topics that might provide subject matter for future recommended practices. Suggestions submitted for a recommended practice should meet all of the following criteria:

  • The subject matter involves practices and/or procedures used in the fuel and fluid handling equipment industry and serves the greater good of the industry;
  • The topic has not been adequately covered in documents produced by another organization; and
  • The expertise to write the document exists among PEI members.

If there is a topic you believe PEI should consider developing as a recommended practice, we would like to hear from you. If you have submitted a topic that was not selected in the past, you must resubmit. Email Bob Young byoung@pei.org with your suggestions by January 28. Please include the purpose and scope of the proposed document, along with the intended audience. We will compile the responses and forward them to PEI’s Recommended Practices Committee for its review and recommendations to the PEI Board of Directors.
