PEI DISTRIBUTOR EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION SURVEY
How does your firm’s employee compensation package compare to others in the petroleum equipment industry and the wholesale trade in general? To help PEI distributors evaluate their numbers, PEI is again co-sponsoring the Distributor Employee Compensation Study written by the Profit Planning Group (PPG). Approximately 2,500 firms in over 35 lines of distribution are expected to participate.

PEI needs your participation in this survey to ensure the results are as comprehensive as possible. To guarantee complete confidentiality of your company’s data, all responses are sent to directly to and compiled by PPG. Only aggregate results will be published.

Participants receive a copy of the survey results free of charge. Non-participating distributors can receive the report for $295.

If you are a distributor member and would like to participate in the survey but did not receive the form, contact Chris Bouldin at cbouldin@pei.org.  Deadline for return of the completed survey form is February 15.

TANK OWNERS FINED
LA World Airports
, the owner/operator of three airports in Los Angeles, has been ordered to pay the State of California up to $2.4 million for allegedly violating underground storage tank requirements at Los Angeles International Airport, L.A./Ontario International Airport and Van Nuys Airport. The settlement, announced by the State Water Resources Control Board, includes $1.3 million in civil penalties and enforcement fees. LA World Airports can avoid over $1 million in suspended penalties if it meets certain requirements specified in the agreement. The case involved three unmonitored and unpermitted underground storage tanks used to store hazardous runoff produced in fire training exercises.
Aloha Petroleum has agreed to pay $650,000 to settle Clean Air and Clean Water Acts violations at its Hilo East bulk fuel storage terminal. In addition, the company agreed to install spill containment at its fuel storage facilities statewide at an estimated cost of $3.25 million, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The pilot program will allow Pemex to judge the impact of its brand in relation to others in markets outside Mexico. The station includes a Taco Shack restaurant and a convenience store.
TravelCenters of America LLC, Westlake, Ohio, has completed its previously disclosed acquisition of 10 convenience stores in Ohio formerly known as Stopn’ Go. The stations will be rebranded as Minit Mart convenience stores.
