Dear PEI Member:

PEI is now offering an online CNG Fueling Station Design and Construction Course. The course is extremely useful for companies and individuals interested in or responsible for designing, building or owning/operating natural gas fueling stations, as well as equipment providers and those involved in permitting such stations.

The online version of the CNG Fueling Station Design and Construction Course is presented in an easy-to-use video/slide-show format. Recorded live at a PEI-sponsored seminar held earlier this year in Baltimore, the course is divided into 12 separate content modules and has a total run time of more than 12 hours. Purchasers can watch at their convenience, at their own pace and as many times as desired in the 21-day license period. Each purchaser also can downloadand keep―a comprehensive course manual with a variety of summaries, schematics and forms that will be valuable resources when planning and constructing these stations.

The course instructor is Leo Thomason, co-founder of the Natural Gas Vehicle Institute, North America's leading provider of education, training and technical consulting on natural gas vehicles and fueling technologies. Leo has more than 25 years of direct natural gas vehicle and fueling infrastructure experience, and has personally trained more than 15,500 students in the United States and throughout the world. Leo is also a CSA-certified CNG Fuel System Inspector.

By taking the course, participants will learn:

  • Key questions to ask when sizing a CNG fueling station
  • Common station configurations
  • How to develop appropriate construction specifications
  • The basics of workable construction specifications
  • Permitting requirements and essentials
  • Piping and instrument diagrams and plot plans
  • Essential safety procedures and guidelines

The price for the CNG Fueling Station Design and Construction Course is $495. For more information, to see a video preview or to purchase your course license, see www.pei.org/CNG.
