for the 2012
PEI Convention at the NACS Show (October 7-10, in Las
Vegas) has now been finalized. With registrations running well
ahead of last year, a sold-out trade show and an exciting slate of
educational sessions, this year's Convention will be the event of
the year in our industry.
If you have not registered, we urge you to do so quickly. Early
bird and group registration discounts, which can save up
to $200 per attendee, expire July 31—less than one week from
today.

GENERAL SESSIONS The 2012 Convention line-up features
three outstanding General Sessions.
Kick-Off Breakfast and General Session. Mark
Scharenbroich, author of Nice Bike: Making Meaningful
Connections on the Road of Life, will demonstrate how to build
strong internal and external relationships that will stimulate
your organization's success. Scharenbroich's entertaining style
and practical content will serve as the perfect introduction to
your Convention experience. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased
in advance. Membership Breakfast and Meeting. Enjoy a
hearty breakfast as PEI President Joey Cheek and PEI Executive
Vice President Bob Renkes share their take on the association and
our industry. New officers for 2013 also will be elected and new
directors will be installed. 10-Groups Breakfast and General
Session. Albert Bates, Ph.D., founder of the Profit Planning
Group, will discuss the "Top Dos and Don'ts of
Profitability." All those who are interested and eligible for
10-Group membership are welcome―and encouraged―to
take part.

PEI After-Hours Lounge. Held on the first two nights of

Volunteers. Find Red―Find
PEI volunteers make a huge contribution by guiding attendees to
various sessions and events. Volunteering is a great way for you
to see and be seen―and PEI staff certainly welcomes the

THE NACS TRADE SHOW Last
but not least is the petroleum and energy marketing equipment and
services area of the NACS Show (October 8-10). A whopping 604
booths and 60,400 net square feet of exhibit space sold out in
record time this year. There is no better way to learn about the
latest products, technologies and services in our industry than to
spend time at the trade show. (Note: This year, the complete

included in the 4Q PEI Journal,
