Bleed Type Shutoff Valve [1]

A shutoff valve [2] that includes a mechanism to relieve the pressure downstream of the valve to atmospheric pressure when the valve handle is in the closed position so that equipment can be safely serviced.

Also known as a safety bleed shutoff valve.
