Air to Liquid Ratio Test [1]

A test procedure that measures the volume of the air returned to a storage tank [2] when a specified volume of gasoline [3] is dispensed from a vacuum assist stage II recovery nozzle [4]. The ratio of the volume of air returned to the tank and the volume of gasoline [3] dispensed is a measure of the effectiveness of the vapor-recovery system.

The A/L ratio measured during a test is compared to the specifications for a specific vacuum-assist system to determine if the equipment is operating properly.
