Registration Open for PEI's Purchasing & Inventory Conference [1]

The Petroleum Equipment Institute has announced that registration is now open for its upcoming Purchasing & Inventory Managers Conference, which has been scheduled for May 16-17 at the Wyndham O’Hare, Chicago, IL.

PEI’s Purchasing & Inventory Managers Conference has been designed for members of its Distributor, Service & Construction and Affiliate divisions, and has been developed to give these attendees a way to identify and correct problem areas in their inventory-management systems while taking advantage of the latest money-saving purchasing and inventory technology. To that end, the conference will feature two days of roundtable discussions and general session topics, as well as a keynote address from Scott Stratman, President of The Distribution Team, Inc., who will offer insight gained through 20 years as a consultant to wholesale distributors around the world.

Advanced registration for the conference is required and if completed before April 11, the cost is $295 for PEI members and $545 for non-members; registration after April 11 and until the May 2 registration deadline is $395 for members and $695 for non-members. Registration can be completed online by visiting www.pei.org/conference [2]. General registration is not open to Manufacturer or Manufacturer Representative members, however, event sponsorships are available that include networking opportunities and tabletop displays. Registrants are responsible for their own room accommodations while attending the conference. PEI has secured a $139 nightly room rate at the Wyndham O’Hare for conference attendees, provided reservations are made prior to April 15.

Topics for roundtable discussions include Nuts and Bolts of Core Warranty Management; Branches; Inventory Management; Vender/Supplier Relationships; Inventory Control on Rolling Stock; Inventory Control with Bar Codes; What to Do With Obsolete and Excess Inventory Stock; and Best Software Packages—Using What They Can Do. General session topics are The “Three Ps” of Warehousing and Inventory Control; Inventory Security and Accountability; Maintaining Inventory Control; Cycle Counting; and Venders and Suppliers. In addition to education, a reception for all attendees and sponsors will be hosted on Friday, May 16.
