PETROLEUM EQUIPMENT INSTITUTE OPENS COMMENTS FOR PEI/RP1700 [1]

TULSA, Oklahoma, April 27, 2018/Petroleum Equipment Institute/ -- A draft of PEI's Recommended Practices for the Closure of Underground Storage Tanks and Shop-Fabricated Aboveground Storage Tanks (PEI/RP1700) is available for public comment.
RP1700 is designed to provide safe and environmentally friendly practices and procedures for the decommissioning, removal, closure in place, storage, transportation and off-site disposal of underground storage tanks (USTs) and shop-fabricated aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) that have contained petroleum products.
The draft RP1700 contains chapters that cover safety, vacuum equipment, USTs, ASTs, disposal and documentation/recording. The publication includes five illustrations and publication references.
To be considered by the PEI Tank Removal and Decommissioning Committee, comments must be received by Friday, June 15.
