PEI Publishes Marina-Fueling Systems Document [1]
Submitted by jessica on
The Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) has announced that the Recommended Practices for the Installation of Marina-Fueling Systems (PEI/RP1000) is now available for purchase.
The recommended practices document, produced by the PEI Marina-Fueling Systems Installation Committee, is the consensus recommendations of representatives from service and installation contracting companies and regulatory agencies. RP1000 represents the first industry standard describing how to construct a marina-fueling facility that is protective of human health and the environment, simple to construct, easy to maintain, and user-friendly for the operator and customer.
The document offers recommendations for materials, designs, and installation procedures suitable for a wide variety of environments, including fresh and salt water, still and moving water, as well as stable, tidal, and fluctuating water levels.
The single-copy price for RP1000 is $40 for PEI members or $95 for nonmembers. The Recommended Practices can be purchased by visiting www.pei.org/RP1000 [2].
Other PEI recommended practices publications currently available include Installation of Underground Liquid Storage Systems (RP100); Installation of Aboveground Storage Systems (RP200); Installation and Testing of Vapor Recovery Systems at Vehicle Fueling Sites (RP300); Testing Electrical Continuity of Fuel-Dispensing Hanging Hardware (RP400); Inspection and Maintenance of Motor Fuel Dispensing Equipment (RP500); Overfill Prevention for Aboveground Storage Tanks (RP600); Design and Maintenance of Fluid-Distribution Systems (RP700); Installation of Bulk Storage Plants (RP800); and the Inspection and Maintenance of UST Systems (RP900). A recommended practice document on the Storage and Dispensing of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (RP1100) will be released in January 2010.
Founded in 1951, PEI is comprised of more than 1,600 companies engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of equipment used in petroleum marketing and related operations. Members are located in 50 states and 81 countries. PEI is the international trade association for distributors, manufacturers and installers of equipment used in petroleum-marketing and liquid-handling operations. Users of the equipment include service station and convenience store owners, terminals, bulk plants and airport refueling operations. The Institute's headquarters are located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
