Submitted by Chris Bouldin on
The Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) recently released its final 2016 safety poster. The poster depicts a safety issue in the petroleum and fuel equipment handling industry and is titled Break the Fire Triangle.
Produced as part of the PEI Safety Program, the poster was developed by the 2015 PEI Safety Committee and illustrated by artist Rodney Thompson of Fayetteville, Arkansas. PEI has printed 43 safety awareness posters since 1992 on industry-specific topics, such as barricading the workplace, lockout/tagout, confined space entry and excavation safety.
The PEI safety posters are free to members and may be downloaded along with many other safety resources at www.pei.org/safety [2].
In addition to the annual posters, the PEI Safety Program authors "Safety Dos and Don’ts," a series of fact sheets that address safety concerns within the petroleum and energy handling equipment industry, and videos that accompany the "Safety Dos and Don'ts." The association also publishes two free monthly safety e-newsletters, "SafetyLetter" and "SafePractices." For more information about PEI’s safety resources, see www.pei.org/safety [2].
The PEI Safety Committee is made up of industry safety experts from across North America and includes: Peter B. Anstadt of PWI Inc.; Eddie Campbell of Tanknology Inc.; Apryl Erekson of Cochise Petroleum Equipment Co. Inc.; Christopher G. Fasse of B & T Service Station Contractors; Benjamin LaMountain of LaMountain Bros. Inc.; Kevin Nicklin of Phoenix Petroleum Ltd.; and Thomas Ruga of Spark Contractors.
