PEI Publishes Digital Recommended Practice Documents [1]

The Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) has announced that its entire library of recommended practices documents is now available digitally, formatted as PDFs and downloadable from the association’s website. Each digital purchase entitles the buyer to download the document, print it and view it on two different computers or devices. 

“In response to numerous requests from members and others in the industry, PEI has been working on a digital platform for our recommended practices for quite some time,” said Rick Long, PEI General Manager. “While we certainly will continue to publish the popular printed versions of these documents, we believe the new digital editions will be an attractive and convenient solution for many purchasers.”

As with the printed versions, the single-copy price of the digital documents is $40 for PEI members or $95 for non-members. Both printed and digital recommended practice documents can be purchased by visiting www.pei.org/rp [2]. 

PEI currently has 13 recommended practices documents and related online tests, with more in process.

PEI began publishing technical manuals in 1986 with the introduction of Recommended Practices for Installation of Underground Liquid Storage Systems (PEI RP100). Collectively, these heavily researched, peer-reviewed documents address many of the most crucial operational issues facing the industry. Recommended practices and procedures contained within the documents are reviewed and revised on a regular basis (at least every five years) to ensure that they reflect the latest technologies and industry trends.
