PEI to Host Sales Boot Camps in Las Vegas, Baltimore and Chicago [1]

The Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) has announced that it will host three Sales Boot Camps in 2011 aimed at improving the culture of sales within participating companies. The Sales Boot Camps will be held in Las Vegas, Nev. (March 10-11); Baltimore, Md. (April 5-6); and Chicago, Ill. (April 7-8).
All three PEI Sales Boot Camps will feature Richard P. Farrell, president of Tangent Knowledge Systems and noted international sales expert. Farrell has appeared on PBS and NBC, and has received coverage in the Wall Street Journal and Chicago Tribune. He is the author of Selling has Nothing to Do with Selling and specializes in helping companies improve sales organization and grow sales culture.
“The feature/benefit style of selling that has served companies so well in the past no longer works. What companies work so hard in trying to prevent (commoditization), they actually create,” said Farrell, who has helped both Fortune 500 companies and start-ups optimize performance and assess sales people, processes, structure and strategy. “The presentation will debunk the time-honored beliefs and strategies that organizations hold so dearly and expose the obscene costs of sales that they blindly operate under. The content is non-traditional, contrarian and will be a wake-up call for all organizations on how to sell, strategize and position their companies to meet the harsh realities of the information economy and the challenging economic climate of today’s marketplace.”
The Las Vegas Sales Boot Camp will be held at the Embassy Suites Las Vegas. Room rates at the Embassy Suites Las Vegas are $129, and the hotel reservation cut-off is Monday, February 7. The Baltimore Sales Boot Camp will be held at the Embassy Suites BWI ($145 per room, with a hotel reservation cut-off of Friday, March 4). The Chicago session will be held in the Hilton Rosemont/Chicago O’Hare Hotel ($129 per room, with a hotel registration cut-off of Monday, March 21).
The early conference registration fee—by February 15, 2011—is $295 for PEI members and $495 for nonmembers. Fees increase to $395 and $695 after February 15. For more information, or to register, visit www.pei.org or call PEI at (918) 494-9696.
