PEI Foundation Scholarships Recipients Announced [1]

The Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) has announced the recipients of the PEI Foundation’s Charles D. Kemp Scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year. The scholarships recognize deserving students who are dependents of employees of PEI member companies.
The scholarships are named in honor and memory of Charles D. Kemp, longtime president of the White-Tucker Company and president of PEI in 1972. Kemp was fully committed to the petroleum and energy handling equipment industry, a man of exemplary character, and devoted to the betterment of his community. The scholarship awards seek to encourage and support students who reflect Kemp’s values and character.
Scholarship recipients for the 2011-2012 academic year are: Eamon Paton, son of Carol C. Paton, Susser Holdings, LLC, Corpus Christi, Texas; Andrew Joseph Patterson, son of Thomas A. Patterson, Charles E. Thomas Co., Gardena, Caif.; Nicholas Pierce, son of Cary Pierce, Great Plains Industries, Wichita, Kan.; Mackenzie Schuler, daughter of David Schuler, Northwest Pump and Equipment, Portland, Ore.; Chyna Simms, daughter of Brad Simms, Unified Contracting Services, Des Moines, Iowa; and Patricia Watkins, daughter of Robert H. Watkins, Baird Petroleum Equipment LLC, Richmond, Va.
Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic achievement, leadership, character, need and the applicant’s intent to contribute to the future of the petroleum and energy handling equipment industry.
The program is administered by the Board of Governors of the PEI Foundation and a Scholarship Selection Committee named by the Board of Governors.
