Blair D. Shwedo Elected 2009 President of PEI [1]

Blair D. Shwedo, president of SouthEastern Petroleum Systems, Inc., Charlotte, NC, has been elected by the members of the Petroleum Equipment Institute to serve as president of the organization. He has most recently served as PEI’s vice president. Shwedo was elected during the Institute's 58th annual convention and trade show held in Chicago, Illinois, and will take office January 1, 2009.
 
In addition to being a 2007 and 2008 member of the PEI board of directors, Shwedo has served as the association’s treasurer and vice president. Shwedo is a current member of the Electrical Continuity Testing, Strategic/Long-Range Planning Committees and Columbia 10-Group and has served on PEI’s Education Committee.
 
“Blair has been an active advocate for the Petroleum Equipment Institute and its activities for many years and, as such, will make a great president,” said Robert Renkes, PEI’s Executive Vice President. “We look forward to welcoming Blair to his new position and are convinced that his time as president will provide long-term benefits for PEI and its member companies.”
 
In addition to his work as a PEI board and committee member, Shwedo has been president of SouthEastern Petroleum Systems since 1992. SouthEastern Petroleum Systems is a national, full-service PEI distributor offering sales, service and installation of petroleum-handling equipment through the Southeast with customers ranging in size from single-site convenience-store owners to national private fleet-fueling systems operators. Shwedo and his wife, Laura, reside in Charlotte with their two children, Blair, Jr., and Anne.
