Germany Is Not Killing Fossil-Fueled Cars [1]

Green website Electrek botched a headline this week when it posted, “All new cars mandated to be electric in Germany by 2030.” Problem is, it’s not true.

The article announced that “Germany is about to become the first major country to set an official deadline for a ban on gas-powered cars.”

Bertel Schmitt, writing for Forbes, examines how the story became misconstrued. Turns out that journalists played something akin to “telephone,” in which the more times a message is paraphrased, the more it gets turned around.
