Update from the Mid-Year 2018 Board of Directors Meeting

The most significant thing that resulted from the April 2018 PEI Board of Directors meeting was that the Board approved the Latin American Steering Committee recommendation from the Strategic Long Range Planning Committee to substantively invest over the next 3 years to increase Latin American membership and establish PEI as a recognized authority in Latin America.  Within that recommendation were two key objectives.  

1.  NEW LATIN AMERICA DIRECTOR POSITION

PEI has begun the search to hire a full-time PEI staff person, whose chief responsibility would be to manage the PEI Latin American efforts.  You may view the job description on the PEI website (https://www.pei.org/sites/default/files/PDF/HR/latin_america_director.pdf).  This has been posted online in various job search websites such as LinkedIn and Indeed.  Should you have a suggestion for an additional site to post this position, please contact Melinda Whitney at mwhitney@pei.org.   

2.  PEI 2018 CONVENTION LATIN AMERICAN PROGRAM

The second major goal was to immediately begin planning for the Latin American programmatic efforts at the PEI Convention at the NACS Show.  In short, more time has been devoted to multiple, diverse Latin American sessions as well as a specific networking opportunity during the convention.  To generate the most impactful ideas for session topics, PEI produced a Call for Presentations online form so that anyone within the industry can suggest session topics.
