TULSA, Oklahoma, Sept. 25, 2017/Petroleum Equipment Institute/ -- Professionals from around the world will be in Chicago on Oct. 19 to hear top fuel experts’ opinions on corrosion, equipment testing and the future of fuels.

The “Fuels & Fuel Equipment” panel is one of several education sessions at the 2017 PEI Convention at the NACS Show. The show runs Oct. 17-20 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

“This panel knows fuel and fuel handling equipment from years of experience, and they’ve been around long enough to know what to expect next,” said Rick Long, executive vice president and general counsel of PEI. “You can ask them about causes and cures for ULSD corrosion, the future of fuels and anything relating to underground storage tank systems, and they’ll tell you the facts.”

Panelists are John Eichberger, Manuch Nikanjam, Brad Hoffman and Edward S. Kubinsky Jr.

Eichberger is executive director of the Fuels Institute, a think tank that evaluates market issues related to consumer vehicles and the fuels that power them.

Nikanjam, a professional engineer with a doctorate, is a Chevron Fellow and consulting engineer for the CRC (Coordinating Research Council) Diesel Performance Group, a nonprofit supported by the petroleum and automotive equipment industries.

Hoffman heads the PEI UST System Inspection & Maintenance Committee, which is responsible for PEI/RP900: Recommended Practices for the Inspection and Maintenance of UST Systems. He is vice president of engineering and research and development at Tanknology Inc.

Kubinsky is chairman of the PEI Overfill, Release Detection & Release Prevention Equipment Testing Committee, which is responsible for PEI/RP1200: Recommended Practices for the Testing and Verification of Spill, Overfill, Leak Detection and Secondary Containment Equipment at UST Facilities. He is the director of regulatory affairs at Crompco LLC.
