PEI Foundation Scholarship Recipients Announced

The Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) has announced the recipients of the PEI Foundation’s Charles D. Kemp Scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year. The awards recognize deserving students who are dependents of PEI member company employees.

The scholarships are named in honor and memory of Charles D. Kemp, longtime president of the White Tucker Co. and president of PEI in 1972. Kemp was fully committed to the fuel and fluid handling equipment industry, a man of exemplary character, and devoted to the betterment of his community. The scholarship awards seek to encourage and support students who reflect Kemp’s values and character.

Scholarship recipients for the 2016-2017 academic year are: Kyle Robert Foster, son of Jason Foster, R.W. Mercer Co., Jackson, Michigan; Matney Stropky, daughter of Joseph Stropky, Nwestco LLC, Kalispell, Montana; and Emily Taylor Wichmann, daughter of Kevin John Wichmann, McKinney Petroleum Equipment, Mobile, Alabama.

Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, leadership, character, need and the applicant’s intent to contribute to the future of the fuel and fluid handling equipment industry.

The program is administered by the Board of Governors of the PEI Foundation and a Scholarship Selection Committee named by the Board of Governors.
