PEI Publishes Lube Equipment Installation Document

The Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) has announced that  Recommended Practices for the Design and Maintenance of Fluid-Distribution Systems at Vehicle Maintenance Facilities (PEI/RP700) is now available for purchase.

The document, produced by the PEI Vehicle-Maintenance Fluids Equipment Committee, provides a basic reference that consolidates information concerning the design considerations and general guidelines for proper installation of safe, reliable, and functional centralized fluid-distribution systems for various types of vehicle related fluids.

The Recommended Practices applies to stationary, centralized fluid-distribution systems for vehicle related fluids such as lubrication oil, gear oil, transmission fluid, hydraulic fluid, grease, antifreeze, and windshield washer fluid. The equipment covered includes supply containers (tanks, drums, pails, etc.), piping and tubing, pumps, compressors, hoses, reels, nozzles and other equipment typically used to construct these systems.

The Recommended Practice can be purchased by visiting www.pei.org/RP700.

Other PEI recommended practice publications currently available include Installation of Underground Liquid Storage Systems (RP100); Installation of Aboveground Storage Systems (RP200); Installation and Testing of Vapor Recovery Systems (RP300); Testing Electrical Continuity of Fuel-Dispensing Hanging Hardware (RP400); Inspection and Maintenance of Motor Fuel Dispensing (RP500); Overfill Prevention for Aboveground Storage Tanks (RP600); Installation of Bulk Storage Plants (RP800); and the Inspection and Maintenance of UST Systems (RP900). PEI is also in the process of authoring recommended practice documents on the Design and Installation of Marina Refueling Systems (RP1000) and on the Storage and Dispensing of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (RP1100).

Founded in 1951, PEI is comprised of more than 1,500 companies engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of equipment used in petroleum marketing and related operations. Members are located in 50 states and 81 countries. PEI is the international trade association for distributors, manufacturers and installers of equipment used in petroleum-marketing and liquid-handling operations. Users of the equipment include service station and convenience-store owners, terminals, bulk plants and airport refueling operations. The Institute's headquarters are located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
