TULSA, Oklahoma, May 12, 2020/Petroleum Equipment Institute/ -- Registration and housing opened Tuesday, May 12 for the 2020 PEI Convention at the NACS Show.
The fuel and fluid handling equipment industry’s largest annual event remains scheduled Oct. 11-14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). A preliminary schedule is available at www.pei.org/show/schedule.
“We’re proceeding as planned and incorporating recommendations from government agencies, health officials, employment law experts and our partners," said Sarah West, director of education and convention at PEI. "Should plans change, PEI stakeholders will hear the news immediately from PEI.”
Early Bird, Cancellation Updates
PEI recognizes attendees' need for flexibility in making plans. PEI:
- Extended the early bird attendee registration ($295 for members and $495 for nonmembers) deadline through June 24. After that, rates will increase to $445 for members and $645 for nonmembers. Companies that register five or more attendees will receive additional discounts.
- Widened the registration cancellation window from 30 days before the event to 20 days before the event. Attendees may cancel for any reason during this time.
- Will refund registrations penalty-free if a government mandate cancels the event, no matter the cancellation date.
- Worked with several hotels in the PEI room block to lower rates and resort fees.
Education Sessions, Networking
The 2020 PEI Convention at the NACS Show reflects innovation. Josh Linkner will deliver the Oct. 12 Kickoff Breakfast & Keynote, “The 5 Mindsets of Innovation.” Tickets are $30.
Linkner, the founder of five tech companies, also is the author of four books, including The New York Times bestsellers “Disciplined Dreaming” and “The Road to Reinvention.” He is chair of Platypus Labs, an innovation research, training and consulting firm. Twice he was named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and he is a recipient of the U.S. presidential Champion of Changes award.
“When you register for the PEI Convention, you can add the Kickoff Breakfast & Keynote,” West said. “This sells out almost every year, and social distancing measures will cut the number of people allowed in the room. We expect tickets will go fast.”
PEI also is partnering with the Fuels Institute and NACS on two mega-sessions. The first — a panel on electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure — will feature installers, manufacturers, regulators and C-store owners who are integrating EV charging. The second session — on forecourt modernization — will go beyond EMV to forecourt digitization opportunities.
The LVCC will host the PEI 10-Groups Breakfast, Session and Breakouts; PEI Women; and PEI Young Executives events.
The Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, the PEI headquarters hotel, will host the PEI After-Hours Lounge.
