PEI, the fuel and fluid handling equipment and services industry’s largest trade association, has opened its newly built headquarters at 6514 East 69th Street in Tulsa, Okla. The new building replaces the PEI headquarters that was built in 1976 and destroyed by fire in February 2014. The new headquarters sits on the same foundation as the original.
The one-story building sits on a 31,968-square-foot lot and measures 7,300 square feet. It features 14 offices, an expansive work area, a 325-square-foot conference room and a centrally located “huddle” room. The building also includes a 662-square-foot employee break room with full kitchen, serving island, communal table and an employee lounge.
“The new PEI headquarters facility will provide PEI staff with a comfortable and collaborative atmosphere to better serve its members,” said Robert Renkes, executive vice president of PEI. “This building will serve our association, industry and our members well. PEI members are very proud of the new headquarters.”
Visitors to the building will be greeted by a restored 1920s-era Wayne, 10-gallon visible gas pump, courtesy of Leland Freeman of Petroleum Solutions, Inc., in Victoria, Texas. The building also will display nine gasoline advertising globes, compliments of Freeman.
The exterior of the new building features an extensive use of glass, in addition to white oak, bronze and a limestone veneer. The design includes two courtyard areas, one of which features a steel, ivy-covered pergola and an ivy-covered back wall, with multiple planting areas and a large patio.
The new headquarters building was designed by W Design, LLC, of Tulsa and built by KBI Construction of Jenks, Okla.
PEI staff moved into the new headquarters on August 17.
