PEI has launched a new program aimed at helping companies provide a safe working environment for all employees. The Safety Program Audit, designed for distributor members of the association, is completely confidential and available to companies doing business in the United States.
Each audit reviews company health and safety philosophies, training programs and facilities, as well as written corporate safety policies, chemical inventory sheets and various forms required by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Each audit will take about two weeks to complete and distributors of all sizes are invited to participate.
“This program is a wonderful addition to the portfolio of services already offered by PEI,” said Robert Renkes, Executive Vice President of the Association. “We feel that many distributors, from the small companies without a written safety plan, to the large companies with established safety programs, can benefit from this service.”
The Safety Program Audit is administered by PEI Business Advisory Group-member Art Sodermark, assisted by PEI staff.
Sodermark is the training director and lead instructor for Clermont, Florida-based Platinum Engineering & Safety, Inc. and holds several training certifications including Certified Environmental Trainer, Certified Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Instructor, and American Safety and Health Institute Certified Trainer. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Safety Engineering, as well as a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering.
Thanks to partial underwriting by PEI, the cost to PEI distributor members is only $400. For nonmembers, the cost is $745. For more information, or to schedule a company audit, Distributors should visit the PEI website at www.pei.org or contact Chris Bouldin at (918) 494-9696 or cbouldin@pei.org.
