TULSA, Oklahoma, March 3, 2021/Petroleum Equipment Institute/ -- PEI’s senior staff leader, Rick Long, will retire Dec. 31 from his position as the association’s executive vice president and general counsel.

“Serving PEI since 2009 has been an honor and a joy,” Long said. “During the next 10 months, I’ll continue to work alongside our exceptional staff and board of directors to deliver on the association’s mission. And, when the search committee completes its work, I’ll do everything I can to ensure a seamless transition and position my successor to lead PEI to what I’m sure will be even greater success.”

Long joined PEI as managing editor of the PEI Journal and general manager of the association. His tenure includes service as editor in chief of the PEI Journal and associate general counsel. In 2017, Long became the association’s executive vice president and general counsel.

He has done a fantastic job of focusing on the current member needs while having the foresight to look around the corner and make members aware of developments that will affect their businesses.”
