TULSA, Oklahoma, July 30, 2020/Petroleum Equipment Institute/ -- A Nevada mandate combined with unrelenting numbers of COVID-19 cases in the state led to today’s cancellation of the on-site 2020 PEI Convention at the NACS Show in Las Vegas.
Registered attendees and exhibitors for the show, which was scheduled Oct. 11-14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, will receive full refunds. PEI will provide updates about refund procedures soon through emails and announcements. The association plans to adjust and hold its conference virtually.
“We’re choosing to look at the good news,” said Rick Long, executive vice president and general counsel at PEI. “The government’s canceling of the on-site convention in Las Vegas means more people can access PEI’s convention information and education than ever before. Many companies have adopted no-travel policies, and several states require visitors from other states to quarantine. We will embrace this opportunity to provide an engaging virtual experience to all PEI supporters as they work safely from their offices and homes around the world.”
PEI registrants who booked hotel rooms through Connections Housing automatically will receive refunds. E-mail notifications will be sent soon.
